Mikael Joonatan

Mikael is a full-time composer, songwriter, pianist and performing artist. He’s been composing music for different group projects, dance and theatre pieces and short films mainly in Finland and France. Last winter he started to record his first solo album at his parents place and in Paris. He had his own little adventure, a voyage to the childlike joy of grabbing an instrument and trying it out, meaning that he also played also instruments he isn’t used to play. He took even a saxophone to his hands and tried to get three right notes out of it so that it could fit in one song, and yes he got them, somehow. He also built up an alternative drum set using a suitcase, pots, ethnical drums and other stuff. The main point of this album and its process is to point out that good songs are what matters the most, not the extreme high quality of sound or the technical playing. It is important, but most important is the feeling. The album will be published this summer.
