Monday 30.5 at 6pm: “Rivers and Tides” Documentary about land artist Andy Goldsworthy,

Dear friend of Arkadia, You are most heartily invited to a screening of the film “Rivers and Tides,” a documentary about the British land artist Andy Goldsworthy, on Monday 30.5 at 6pm. The film (90 minutes) will be followed by a short talk by Juliette Kennedy on Goldsworthy‘s recent work. These events are in conjunction with the lecture by Andy Goldsworthy at the Ateneum in Helsinki on June 11th, at 3.00 Goldsworthy’s exhibition at the Pori Art Museum opens the previous night, June 10th, and is up until September 11th, 2011. Juliette Kennedy is Yliopistonlehtori at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Helsinki. She recently spoke at Arkadia on the mathematical concept of infinity. Juliette is also a curator. The talk is in English. Welcome! Warm regards, Ian www.arkadiabookshop.fi Entrance is free and green tea will be offered. A donation of €2 (or more!) to fund the event is suggested and would be most welcome.Juliette Kennedy1. \On Embedding Models of Arithmetic into Reduced Powers,” Ph.D. thesis, City University of New York, 1996. 2.
