“How to talk with other people. The Gestalt Therapy way” by Jan Erik Sundström
Gestalt Therapy (in Finnish Gestalt terapia or Hahmoterapia or Hahmopsykoterapia) is one of the most central of the human psychotherapies which emerged in the fifties in the USA, New York and Esalen, for instance. The father of Gestalt Therapy was Fritz Perls. In Scandinavia we have a Scandinavian version of Gestalt Therapy. The therapy method I usually use is role-playing, “the hot seat”. The aim is to grow as a human person and to start realizing yourself more and more (humanism). To take responsibility for yourself by “doing your own thing” (existentialism). And in gestalt communication responsibility became response-ability.
Jan Erik Sundström, “Janne”, TEO-legalized psychotherapist, is the director of the Gestalt Institute of Finland (Suomen Hahmopsykoterapia Instituutti) since its foundation in 1984. Jan Erik Sundström’s , somewhat outdated, website is www.janne.com, his phone is +358405855000, and his office is in Helsingin Lääkärikeskus, Mannerheimintie 12 (just opposite Stockmann).
