Swedish pianist Philip Ljung (b.1986) has established himself as one of the most prominent young classical pianists of the Nordic countries. He laid the foundation of his performing career at an early age with the first prizes in: the Swedish national “Young Artists” competition in 1999, the “Nordic piano competition” in Norway in 2000, the “Young Swedish music talent of the year”-award in 2001 as well as the Swedish national piano competition in 2002.

Ljung
has performed extensively throughout Sweden and Finland. He has also played in USA, Russia, Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Latvia and Lithuania. In 2012 Ljung won the international piano competition in Chioggia, Italy. Since then he has performed regularly in Italy.

Ljung’s inspiration as an artist has mainly come from three world-renowned pianists, all of which have been his teachers: Dr. Hui-Ying Liu-Tawaststjerna (Sibelius-Academy), prof. Konstantin Bogino (Italy), and prof. Menahem Pressler (USA).
