The Lover and The Beloved: A Journey into Tantra (2011, 70 min.) tells about one man’s search of meaning of life and enlightenment among the Aghori ascetics in Northern India. The film offers insight into Tantrik ideas about the life cycle, particularly death.
The Lover and The Beloved: A Journey into Tantra will be presented social anthropologist Mari Korpela.

Mari Korpela is social anthropologist working as a postdoctoral research fellow in University of Tampere. She has researched Western lifestyle migrants in India.
Andy Lawrence makes ethnographic films and teaches filmmaking in Visual Anthropology at the Granada Centre for Visual Anthropology in Manchester, UK
Mari Korpela on sosiaaliantropologi, joka toimii tutkijatohtorina Tampereen yliopistossa. Hän on tutkinut länsimaalaisia elämäntapasiirtolaisia Intiassa.
Andy Lawrence tekee etnografisia elokuvia ja opettaa filmintekoa Manchesterin yliopiston visuaalisen antropologian keskuksessa.
