Readings in original (eng), Danish translation from Der er ingen ærlige digter om døde kvinder by Shadi Angelina Bazeghi (OVO press, 2019) and Swedish translation  written especially for the occasion by Adrian Perera and Ylva Perera.

The discussion be in Swedish and English and be moderated by Olivia Maury.

Välkommen till en kväll med Audre Lordes poesi!

AUDRE LORDE (1934-1992) is an internationally recognized intellectual, poet and civil rights activist. She described herself as black, lesbian, mother, warrior and poet. Her conception of her many layers of selfhood is replicated in the multi-genres of her work. She published ten volumes of poetry and five works of prose and received many honors and awards, including doctorates from Hunter, Oberlin, and Haverford Colleges.

SHADI ANGELINA BAZEGHI (b. 1974) is a poet, translator, and co-editor of Kritiker magazine. Her debut poetry collection Vingeslag was published in Denmark in 2015 (Gyldendal) and in Sweden 2017 (translator Helena Boberg, Modernista). Bazeghi’s translation work into Danish includes i.a. a selection of the poems by Forugh Farrokhzad (Gyldendal, 2013) as well as of Audre Lorde (OVO press, 2019).

ADRIAN PERERA (b. 1986) is an author, critic and editor. His debut poetry collection White Monkey was published in Finland in 2017 (Forlaget). Mamma is the title of his first novel (Forlaget, 2019), it is written in four languages.

YLVA PERERA (b. 1989) is an author and critics, working on her PhD thesis in literary studies at Åbo Akademi. She hold a MFA in literary composition from Valand Academy, Gothenburg University.  Her debut novel Dödsdalsdansösen – handbok för ökenresenärer was published in Finland in 2017 (Vilda forlag).
