Composer Juha T. Koskinen and guitarist Patrik Kleemola will discuss about the possibilities and challenges of contemporary guitar music in Finland and in Italy.

Patrik Kleemola has commissioned several new pieces from composers of both countries and during the event he will play 3 of them:
Juha T.Koskinen’s Foco interno, Marcela Pavia’s The banshee’s keen and Ada Gentile’s Perchitarrasola.

These compositions are included in Kleemola’s first solo cd Perchitarrasola. Koskinen and Kleemola had an intense collaboration for Foco interno (“Inner Fire”), a piece premiered at the Turku festival in 2011, which is based on a sonnet by Michelangelo. They will tell something about how a search for a new musical expression may need an exploration of new playing techniques.
