Friday 19.3 at 6pm: TED talk on Education

Dear friend of Arkadia, You are warmly welcome to yet another TED salon Friday 19.3 at 6pm! An evening of watching and discussing two short, impactful, and thought-provoking video lectures on topics related to education by author and educator Sir Ken Robinson (http://tinyurl.com/y9pmhdf) and designer and educator Kiran Bir Sethi (http://tinyurl.com/yduspoa). The lectures, originally delivered at past TED conferences (www.ted.com), deal with creativity and empowerment in education. TED Salon@Arkadia, an initiative launched in February 2010 by Pavan Ramkumar, is a monthly event, where two related, complementary or constrasting TED talks are screened around a common theme. The talks are intended to provide a conversation piece around which people can convene. Why: To share the passion for novel and thought-provoking ideas with as diverse an audience as possible, to create a forum for meaningful conversation, and to define a local response to global ideas. Welcome and bring your friends! Warm regards, Ian www.arkadiabookshop.fi – Entrance is free and green tea will be served. A donation of €2 (or more!) is suggested and would be welcome. – The talk is open to everyone and will be in English. Important: Disclaimer: Kindly note that this informal evening of TED talks is different from a licensed, independently organized TEDx event: http://www.ted.com/pages/view?id=343. The organizer’s views do not represent those of TED or TEDx, nor does he represent any commercial or political agenda.
