Saunoa
This is a three-part documentary set in different places in or around Helsinki where there is a sauna. The film is about Finnish social relationships somewhere in, out or next to a sauna: in the Yrjönkatu swimming-pool, in Arla, a public sauna in Kallio and in an old wooden sauna by a lake. The whole piece is divided in 2 acts and one intermission.
Personally I got interested in filming a sauna as a social study because I could notice the similarities of the Finnish sauna and the Spanish bar, where people meet and socialize.
Anne Recasens
I was born in Barcelona 1988. I just got the Audiovisual Communication degree specialized in cinema at the Univeristat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. I studied my last school year in Berlin; Freie Universität and Universität der Künste, where I got specialization in cinema production and direction and I started developing my interest and practise in documentary film. At the time I worked as a documentary journalist for the Catalan TV station.
After Berlin I moved to Helsinki where I took my internship in a Documentary production company: Illume. Last April I had the chance to find a job in a production company, Inland Company, as a producer and sales assistant. I worked in different film festivals: Festival internacional de San Sebastián (Spain), Cinemaissí (Finland) and International Random Film Festival (Sweden).
