Dear friend of Arkadia,

You are invited to “From apartheid to democracy, or Why I don’t like the Israel/Palestine conflict” by Syksy Räsänen on Friday 22.3 at 6pm at Arkadia (Nervanderinkatu 11)

Syksy’s recent article on the one state solution in Ulkopolitiikka (inFinnish) can be read here:
http://www.ulkopolitiikka.fi/artikkeli/1095/yhden_valtion_malli/

It is often thought that the only solution to the Israel/Palestine conflict will consists of setting up a Palestinian state alongside Israel (or that the conflict is completely intractable!). However, recently a solution in the form of a single democratic state has become more prominent.

This talk will go through a bit of the history and the present situation in Israel/Palestine and the one state solution – and how to get there.

The talk will be in English and no previous knowledge is assumed! All are welcome to join the discussion.

Warm regards,

Ian

Entrance is free but a donation of €3 (or more!) to fund the event is suggested and would be most welcome
