You are very welcome to visit us at: / Arkadia International Bookshop and “like” us if indeed you do!

Dear friend of Arkadia,

You are invited to “From apartheid to democracy, or Why I don’t like the Israel/Palestine conflict” by Syksy Räsänen on Friday 22.3 at 6pm at Arkadia (Nervanderinkatu 11)

Syksy’s recent article on the one state solution in Ulkopolitiikka (inFinnish) can be read here:

It is often thought that the only solution to the Israel/Palestine conflict will consists of setting up a Palestinian state alongside Israel (or that the conflict is completely intractable!). However, recently a solution in the form of a single democratic state has become more prominent.

This talk will go through a bit of the history and the present situation in Israel/Palestine and the one state solution – and how to get there.

The talk will be in English and no previous knowledge is assumed! All are welcome to join the discussion.

Warm regards,

Entrance is free but a donation of €3 (or more!) to fund the event is suggested and would be most welcome

Syksy Räsänen is a board member of the Finnish branch of the Israeli Committee against House Demolitions (ICAHD). In 2012, ICAHD became the first Israeli organisation to endorse the one state solution.
