Marjo Särkkä-Tirkkonen , senior planning officer at the Ruralia Institute of the University of Helsinki, she will discuss the topic of promoting and preserving Finnish products, not just inside Finland, but also for export.
After her presentation, the audience will have the opportunity of tasting samples of some of the products that she mentions in her presentation.

Slow Food by Marjo Särkkä-Tirkkonen
Our speaker, Marjo Särkkä-Tirkkonen , has been a senior planning officer at the Ruralia Institute of the University of Helsinki for the past 16 years. She is also a member of the Finnish Ark of Taste board of Slow Food, which is tasked with preserving Finnish traditional foods and methods of preparing them. Her research interests include the authenticity and transparency of the food chain and foreign perceptions of Finnish food. She will address the topic of promoting and preserving Finnish products, not just inside Finland, but also for export. In addition, she will point out good Finnish products that are often overlooked because of other international, more famous products.
