Friday 3.8 from 3pm to 9pm: Arkadia at the World Design Capital Pavilion

Dear friend of Arkadia,

You are warmly invited to an Arkadia International Bookshop afternoon, for a talk with Peruvian artist Jorge Miyagui and concerts by Buenos Airolas and by Mikael H & The Siberians (new album, “The President of Venice Beach”), at the World Design Capital Pavilion on Friday 3.8 from 3pm to 9pm.

3pm: Art and Politics in Peru with Jorge Miyagui and Teivo Teivanen

Jorge Miyagui is a Peruvian artist whose provocative paintings and installations have caused various scandals. His paintings have toured in galleries of the world, and in Peru he participates in creating collective art experiences with local communities. On Friday he will be presenting some of his work and reflecting on them together with Teivo Teivainen, professor of World Politics of the University of Helsinki.

5pm: Buenos Airolas

Buenos Airolas is a dulcet and colourful ensemble based on harmony of two vivid women voices and violin, accompanied by accordeon and guitar. Their repertoire varies from rough and melancholic Finnish folksongs to hilarious ballads.

7pm: Mikael H & The Siberians

The single release will be celebrated with a concert at the World Design Capital Pavilion that will include some twists and surprises!
