Having previously played together, for example in “Panu Savolainen Proprius” ensemble, this new set-up will bring up some wholly new facets of these musicians. The music consists of intriguing compositions, written by both Savolainen and Huhtala, and improvisation, that allow them to make full use of all the freedom that is given by the duo setting and head in unexpected directions. Panu Savolainen & Jori Huhtala Panu Savolainen, vibraphone Jori Huhtala, double bass Panu Savolainen is known is for his work with, for example, HERD (1st prize at European Jazz Competition 2011), Ohne and Umo Jazz Orchestra, whereas Jori Huhtala has gained success with such groups as Kvalda, Big Blue and Raoul Björkenheim Ecstasy.
