Mystisen naaraan portti on musiikkiprojekti, joka tiivistyy laulaja–lauluntekijä Teemu Suuntamaan sävellysten ja sanoitusten ympärille.

”Myös kirjoittamisessa on vaiheita. Rakkauslaulujen lisäksi olen tavoitellut laulunkirjoittamisessa usein ilmaisua tunteille ja tuntemuksille, joita en osaa tai halua selkokielisesti sanallistaa. Olen antanut tekstin virrata tavalla, johon en kovin paljoa tietoisella mielelläni puutu. Luova hetki tapahtuu unen ja valveen rajatilassa, toisinaan huomattavasti lähempänä unta. Tällöin esiin tulee kuvia, joissa ei ehkä vaikuta olevan jatkuvuutta tai selkeyttä, mutta joissa tuntuu ainakin minusta olevan elämää tai voimaa. Musiikki nivoutuu tekstien ympärille samankaltaisella tavalla. Musiikki, kieli ja kuvat ovat minulle myös välittäjiä kokemukseen ja tilaan, joka ravitsee, elävöittää ja luo merkitystä. Sitä voi kutsua pyhäksi. Mutta siihen sisältyy epäaidon rienaaminen.”

Eccentric Folk Music

The Gate of the Mysterious Female is a music project that condenses around the compositions and texts by singer–songwriter Teemu Suuntamaa.

”There are phases also in writing. In songwriting, in addition to love songs, I’ve been trying to find expression to feelings and sensations, that I cannot or want not to put explicitly in words. I’ve been trying to let the text flow freely in a way that I don’t intervene too much with conscious mind. The creative moment happens at the threshold of sleep and being awake, at times clearly closer to dreaming. At these moments images come up. They might not seem to have continuity or clarity, but I perceive certain life force or power in them. Music is interwoven around the texts in a similar manner. For me, music, language and images are also intermediaries to an experience and state, that nourishes, enlivens and creates meaning. One could call it sacred. But it contains profanity of what is not genuine.”
