Dear friend of Arkadia, You are warmly welcome to a remarkable recital by singer Julia Korkman and guitarist Jukka Särkkä on Friday 8.4 at 6pm. They will perform rarely heard music: Spanish seguidillas by guitarist, singer and composer Fernando Sor, two songs composed for voice and mandolin by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and popular songs from Tuscany. These latter songs were mostly sung by women and depicted their everyday existences and hardships. They offer a stark contrast to the arias of the same period, generally sung by men, that praised romantic love and somewhat less realistic views of life. Welcome everyone!
