Monday 14.11 at 6pm: ‘Fifty years of Translations’ by Anto Leikola

Dear friend of Arkadia, You are warmly invited to “Fifty years of Translations” by Anto Leikola on Monday 14.11 at 6pm. Anto has kindly accepted to talk of his life long work as a translator. Anto Leikola has written a number textbooks in collaboration with others, some 15 books of essays, various other publications and about 50 translations from English, French, Italian, Swedish, Latin, Spanish, Latvian and some shorter works from other languages. He obtained his Ph.D. in developmental biology in 1963 and  worked as a lecturer of developmental biology at the University of Helsinki. He was head of the nonfiction department at WSOY publishing house, lecturer of history of science at the University of Oulu, and professor of history of science at the University of Helsinki until 1997.
