Monday 17.12 at 6pm at New Arkadia: Christmas Carols!
You are very welcome to visit us at: www.facebook.com / Arkadia International Bookshop and “like” us if indeed you do!
Dear singing friends of Arkadia,
You’re invited to participate in an exciting evening of Christmas music brilliantly organized by Rose Lerner on Monday 17.12 at 6pm at New Arkadia ( Nervanderinkatu 11)
The idea is to bring together a group of singers to sing a selection of interesting Christmas carols (from the English cathedrals tradition), with a few “old favourites”. Rose’s idea is that this is neither a concert nor a rehearsal – mistakes are fine, and we might repeat a few things, but we’ll mostly just be singing.
Rose invites both beginners and experienced singers, with the idea that beginners will take the tune and others will sing harmonies. We’ll also form a small group of people who can sight-read to tackle some more difficult pieces alone. So, hopefully no one will be bored!
There will also be glögi and traditional mince pies (all the way from London!).
Please forward to people in Helsinki who are known to sing (particularly people who can sing tenor or bass) !
Signing up: not essential, but really useful: reply with your name, whether you sing tune only/soprano/alto/tenor/bass and whether you’re interesting in joining the small sight-readers group.
Write to: Rose Lerner at rose.n.lerner@gmail.com
Pianist / music: if you’re a willing pianist, or know one, please email me! Likewise if you have access to a pile of carol books that we can borrow, please let me know.
Hope you can make it!
Warm regards,
Ian
