Juho Nieminen

Juho Nieminen is a stage poet and the founder of Monrepoo publication association. He is also one of the starting members of Helsinki Poetry Connection from 2008. Nieminen is the winner of annual Poetry Slam competition in Helsinki from 2004, 2007 and 2009. Since then he has “retired” from competition and has focused more on planning and promoting poetry related events. His latest self-published poetry book “Lainatut kumisaappaat lonksuvat jalassa” (The jiggle of your borrowed rainboots) was awarded the best self-published poetry book of the year by Kalle Päätalo -foundation.

Henri Hirvenoja

Henri Hirvenoja published his first poems at an early age, when he
was six years old. He has written three poetry books and his style is
very colloquial, with situations, where the reader or listener can identify
himself relatively easy.

Harri Hemminki

Harri Hemminki
is a 37-year-old amateur poet and a teacher of German and English fromJärvenpää. His first book, a collection of poems, came out last May. His style is mostly verycompact and yet light. His poems are rather influenced by modern and classical elements than the post modern. He holds classical civilisation in high esteem in general and considers it much more than just knowledge of ancient history, a prime story of humanity and wisdom on patterns that keep repeating themselves in the universe. His themes vary from the esoteric to the erotic and elegant and his poems are often set somewhere outside Finland, especially in the Mediterranean, with a hint of the athmosphere of old Italian films.
