Our friendship and cooperation as a piano duet started in the year 2000 while rehearsing one of the most beautiful work written for four hand piano duet- The Fantasia in F Minor by Franz Schubert. Our very first performance was in Seinäjoki, where we played this particular work by Schubert in 2001. Since then we have played together almost every summer in Seinäjoki, where we organise our own chamber music concert series, called “Säveliä Elokuussa” (Tunes in August) with our chamber music group Elokuu-Ensemble (August Ensemble). On top of this concert series in Seinäjoki, we have given duo concerts in numerous places in Finland and abroad (Austria, Denmark and the Faroe Islands). At Arkadia we will perform two pieces originally written for piano duet: Fantasie in F-minor by Schubert and Ma Mère l’Oye by Maurice Ravel. Between these two pieces we’ll play a transcription of Claude Debussy’s two dances.
