You are invited to a concert of Paula Jaakkola & Ape Anttila Duo on Saturday 20.12 at 4pm at Arkadia (Nervanderinkatu 11)

Paula Jaakkola (vocals, piano) is a New York City based singer-songwriter and is accompanied by Ape Anttila (bass, guitar). They will perform Paula‘s songs from her solo album “Holy” and a few “lightly Christmas-flavored” songs. Jaakkola’s expressive and melodious singing is fierce and defiant; another moment pleading; yet another, descending into a breathy whisper, and, more often than not, all in the same song. She has been compared to singers like Joni Mitchell and Suzanne Vega. Her melodic pop songs are full of charm and delight, innocence, no matter that there is complex emotion at their center.
