Tatty Bumpkin.
In each session, you and your child are taken on a magical journey with Tatty Bumpkin.
During the session you and your child will explore different movements and yoga positions, engage in a story, do actions to songs, and have the opportunity to feel and play with props and materials designed to bring the world of Tatty Bumpkin to life.
You and your child’s imagination will be stimulated in a creative and fun way, and you will discover your inner child. The class is inclusive, non-competitive and ideal for all the family. Last, but not least, research shows that children bond with adults and their peers when they actively move together.
Elena Santana Guevara was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain, in 1982. After attending a British school for 14 years, finishing her GCSE’s and A-levels she decided to postpone her English studies and pursue a degree in Translation and Interpretation Studies in Spain.
Having finished that, she started working for a prestigious advertising company in Helsinki, where she was in charge of the Spanish translation department. This adventure didn’t last too long, and soon Elena found herself turning to what had always been her other passion, i.e. working with children.
Not long after, Elena Santana Guevara completed the British qualifications Edexcel National Vocational Qualification Level 2 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development (Awarded: April 2008) and continued to complete Edexcel National Vocational Qualification Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development (Awarded: June 2009). These work-based qualifications were finished whilst working from 2007 to 2011, first, as teacher assistant and then, as teacher.
Since 2012 she is pursuing CACHE Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People’s services, a British management qualification specifically tailored for working with children and young people, recognized by the Chartered Management Institute in the UK. Last, but not least, since August 2013 she is also the ERASMUS/University students’ coordinator for all those university students who decide to do their work placement at the international daycare where she works in Helsinki. This provides her with the fantastic opportunity to not only teach children but to work with and mentor future teachers who will, in the years to come, teach children themselves, too.
