Hooka-hei! Narancha is music somewhere over the main stream and majority mountains, a kind of world music performed by Merikastanja.

Narancha is songs about seeking and longing for freedom, trying to find one’s own place and space and to cope with the world of human beings ; songs about the Great Nature surrounding us (introducing e.g.the amazing Moss Bears and what we can learn from them!), wanderlust, perhaps some romantic exoticism (at least in the form of an atoll full of interesting biota and a tropical revolving storm) ; the idle world of board games, riverboats, soft wind and waves ; and so forth.

Merikastanja was first introduced in 2004. Now, after ten years, three albums and a handful of live performances, Merikastanja has woken up from a long long hibernation: a new album ‘Cloudlands’ is soon out for public and a new concert was performed in June of this year at Kääntöpöytä/Turntable, with new musicians!

On November 22nd at Arkadia we’ll welcome you to the Afternoon of Narancha — please bring with you your tolerant, supportive and open mind-heart!
