About the pianist

Katrina Goldman
, born 1994, is currently attending St. Brendan’s sixth form in the UK. Previously she has studied piano at
Itä-helsingin musiikkiopisto under Leena Nikula and currently studies piano in the UK privately under Elizabeth Valentine. She will be taking the exam for the ATCL (Associate of Trinity College London) performance diploma, a professional qualification, in November.

When I’m playing a piece, the most important thing for me is the emotional content. From the logical and mathematical structure of Bach to the sweeping romantic emotions of Chopin, it is important to me that I bring these out in the music to the best of my ability. This is something I always strive for in my performances, and when playing for an audience I want to be able to communicate these things to them, to give them a glimpse of what I see in the music.
