Dear friend of Arkadia,

Entrance is free but a donation of €3 (or more!) to fund the event is suggested and would be most welcome.

Johanna MacDonald, a half-Finn Canadian, writer, comedian, performer and all-around foreigner, will read two short comedic stories on life and other unfortunate errors as they are perpetrated in Helsinki and elsewhere in Finland, featuring disastrous party etiquette in Oulu and what happens when you shave off your eyebrows.

Johanna has been living, insofar as that would be the right word for it, in Helsinki for the last 10 years after a reckless and foolish exodus from Toronto. Since then she’s been working as an actor, writer, translator, and performance artist at places like Teatteri Naamio ja Höyhen. More lately she’s to be found on the local stand-up comedy circuit.
