Saturday 3.10 at 4pm: The Princess Bride and Fencing with swordman Guy Windsor
Dear friend of Arkadia,
You are welcome to yet another extraordinary presentation by swordman Guy Windsor , of the School of European Swordsmanship, on Saturday 3.10 at 4pm! (http://www.swordschool.com/)
Perhaps the best loved screen duel of all time comes from the Princess Bride. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Princess_Bride_) The two swordsmen (Inigo and Wesley) do battle while discussing fencing theory- and introduce four fencing masters of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries to a new audience. Who were these masters, and what did they teach? We will watch the duel, then discover what Bonetti, Capoferro, Thibault and Agrippa really did and said. Secret agents? Spanish circles? All will be revealed..
Warm regards,
Ian
