Saturday 5.10 at 4pm at Arkadia: Concert of Rebecca Clamp with Hans Wessels

Dear friend of Arkadia,

You are invited  to a concert of Rebecca Clamp with Hans Wessels on Saturday 5.10 at 4pm at Arkadia (Nervanderinkatu 11)

Rebecca Clamp is a singer-songwriter originally from the UK, but now settled in Finland. Her musical collaboration with Hans Wessels (Vallilan Tango) began over coffee in Karhupuisto, Kallio, six years ago, and they haven’t looked back since. Together they make emotive, lyric-based music with a piano, ukulele, electronics and vocal harmonies. Their performance style combines intimacy with passion, light-hearted humour, and lyrics exploring the small great things in life.

Warm regards,
Entrance is free but a donation of €3 (or more!) to fund the event is suggested and would be most welcome. If you have no loose change or coins we gladly accept payment via Visa Electron or Mastercard etc.!

Rebecca Clamp – here collaborating with her partner Hans Wessels – writes songs that are like three minute windows into her life, with subject matters relating to her feelings in a particular instant, summaries of conversations at cross-purposes, pencil sketches of friendships and relationships.” (Americana UK)

“Kokemus kuuluu. Herkät kappaleet kulkevat kauniisti pianon ja ukulelen johdattelemina. Clampin ääntä kelpaa kuunnella.” (Harri Römpötti, Helsingin Sanomat)

“Prepare for a diverse sequence of brilliantly original songs, ranging in mood from the quietly tender “Still” to the epic and dreamy “All the Best”. Avoiding all the clichés of pop songwriting, these are sharply observed vignettes of ambivalent moments in human relationships” (Ben Whitworth,
