Zebras – Works by Tuire Koskela

is a ceramics exhibition by Tuire Koskela, a 23-year-old ceramics artist and photographer originally from Joensuu. She studied in Pekkalan kuvataideoppilaitos and completed her diploma work A Night at the Safari in 2011. Zebras is a sequel to her diploma work which also consisted of black and white pieces. She aims to make her works delicate yet functional and long-lasting.

Clear geometrical patterns and the contrast between black and white have fascinated her ever since she started making ceramics in 2006. She finds zebra print interesting because it feels controlled and clear but also restless at the same time.“
