Warm regards, Ian www.arkadiabookshop.fiEntrance is free and green tea will be offered. A donation of €2 (or more!) to fund the event is suggested and would be most welcome! Hannele Luhtasela-El Showk and Sedeer El-Showk Hannele Luhtasela-El Showk (b. 1985), who strongly dislikes gendered pronouns and prefers to be called “it”, is about to finish its master’s thesis on immune defence in ants at the University of Helsinki while studying wildlife on the side. Photography has always been present in its life, but even more so in the past 5 years. Its main interest is nature photography, in particular landscapes. Sedeer El-Showk (b. 1980) is pursuing his PhD in biology at the University of Helsinki. He has recently rediscovered photography although he originally started taking photographs with an old Canon AE-1 as a teenager. His photography is generally nature-oriented with a focus on macros. We like to travel and see as many new places as possible, but also marvel at the small things that usually go unnoticed in everyday life. Sometimes, though, we also end up spending entire sunny days in underground studios with our friends as models. Our photos will be hanging on the walls at Arkadia and we’ll be talking about those photos and a few more. We’ve also made a book for the occasion, which will be sold at the book shop. It can also be purchased and previewed here:
