The International School of Music Finland is currently bringing a new series of conceptual concerts to the Finnish stage. These are concerts with a twist, events that combine a mixed media of music, literature and storytelling. They promote an educational element, where an audience comes away not only having heard some music, but also having learnt something new.

As the second concert of this series ISM is proud to present an international ensemble with two of ISM teachers:

‘ZUMBA QUE ZUMBA’: LATIN AMERICAN FOLK AND POPULAR MUSIC (VEN / COL / PER)

An exciting selection of Latin American music performed by Cantares, a duo formed by Venezuelan singer Nathaly Gómez and Peruvian multi-instrumentalist and musicologist Camilo Pajuelo, and Colombian harp player and singer Natalia Castrillón. The program embraces a variety of musical genres such as joropo, vals, bolero, tonada, merengue, milonga, etc. from several Latin American countries. The performance includes poems and inspiring stories related to the works and their composers, stressing the socio-cultural aspects and multicultural influences through a unique diversity of rhythms and musical instruments.
