Pete Purho
Ensimmäisen keikkansa Pete Purho teki puolitoistavuotiaana, Kouvolan Sokos-marketissa.
Peten isä Markku Purho oli siellä silloin keikalla. Ja kuten myös tulevina 20 vuotenakin hän pisti
poikansa esiintymään, jotta voisi lyhentää omaa työaikaansa. Äiti Merja oli huolissaan ja syystä,
kun pienelle lapselle eivät perinteiset lelut kelvanneet. Aina piti leikki taikavälineillä taikuria.
Näistä ajoista lähtien taikuus on säilynyt Peten intohimona ja harrastuksena.
Ensimmäinen taikurikongressi oli vuonna 1984 Kouvolan Taikapäivät. Siitä lähtien Purho on
osallistunut kaikkii Taikapäiviin. Vuoden 1987 gaalashowssa Pete esiintyi kolmivuotiaana.
Junioreiden SM-kilpailuissa Pete voitti näyttämösarjassa hopeaa vuonna 1996 ja vuonna 1998
pronssia samassa sarjassa. Vuosina 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008 hän on toiminut tuomarina
Kouvolan Taikapävillä junioritaikurien SM-kilpailuissa sekä vuosina 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007
aikuisten SM-kilpailuissa. Lisäksi hän on julkaissut useita artikkeleita suomalaisissa alan
lehdissä.
