It is an intimate session recorded during 48 hours last August in Porvoo, Finland. The Cd was released through the Internet store CdBaby.com in May. In Finland it will be nationally available in stores on the 9th of June, but is already available in Stupido Record Store in Helsinki as a Cd and Vinyl. The 10th of June the group will celebrate the release of the vinyl at the Arkadia Bookshop in Helsinki. A couple years ago, a young songwriter-pianist Mikael Kuosmanen met a strong voiced singer Tua Sofia in in Helsinki. Straight away they started working together. But year later Mikael moved to Paris, which meant some big changes for the already existing group. In Paris he started working with local musicians and met Aurélien Vacher, a curly haired cellist. Mikael, Tua and Aurélien are the soul of Breakfast at Phoebe’s nowadays working between Finland and France. It has became a small, intimate but strong group. Sometimes if you’re lucky, you can hear them playing with a Finnish drummer Jooel or some other musicians. Their music doesn’t easily fit in one specific genre. In their musical universe you can here different influences from jazz, pop, soul, folk, classical etc. From the starting point, to this point what the group is now, has happened a lot and the journey hasn’t been always that simple. Working between two countries is at the same time very challenging but can be also very rewarding. In near future the group is planning to start to record their debut album.
