Vallilan Tango will play an intimate gig . Songs will be accompanied by short explanations about their origins and cultural context. Also discussed will be Vallilan Tango’s continuing project to rejuvenate authentic Finnish dance music and bring it to a new audience as well as its latest project to bring ‘lost songs’ back to life.

Vallilan Tango will take you on a music journey in the world of old Finnish dance music.

Vallilan Tango is a dance orchestra based in Vallila, an old workers’ district in eastern Helsinki. The band’s repertoire includes
traditional dance hall styles like tango, waltz, foxtrot and beguine, as well as classic Finnish dance styles such as jenkka and humppa.
