Visit Finland
The most profound things can happen when you visit new places. Visit Finland is a result of exactly this, namely a jazz quartet formed by Danish saxophone player Johannes Gammelgaard when he was in exchange at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki in the fall of 2016. Here he found the perfect musicians to play a bunch of his own compositions that had been waiting for a long time to get performed. Written during the 3 years of his bachelor studies in Denmark, they present a mix of jazz, blues and Danish folk music inspired by his personal heroes like Thelonious Monk, Sonny Rollins and Jesper Zeuthen. They are joyful, happy and swinging pieces of music with strong melodies that are very likely to stay in your head for days to come.
