You are very welcome to visit us at: / Arkadia International Bookshop and “like” us if indeed you do!

Dear friend of Arkadia,

You are invited to The Kouon Frouva Valentine´s Day Concert on Thursday 14.2 at 6pm at Arkadia (Nervanderinkatu 11)!

Kouon Frouva is a five-piece folk band, known from their groovy and vivid playing, delicate male vocals and unique songwriting. Their repertoire consists of original songs by mandolin player Jarmo Romppanen and instrumental numbers that are either traditional finnish folk tunes or original compositions by band members.

On Valentine´s Days the audience will be pampered with material from Kouon Frouva´s upcoming cd, which will be released later this year. The first ever Kouon Frouva-video “Intiaanisokeri” will also be published and screened at the concert.

Warm regards,

-Entrance is free and green tea will be offered. A donation of €2 (or more!) to fund the event is suggested and would be most welcome.

Kouon Frouva

Kouon Frouva was formed year 1996 at the Sibelius-Academy´s folk music department, where group members were studying at the time. They quickly became a household name in the finnish folk music scene. Anyhow, it took more than ten years from the group to get
their first cd “Askel Astuttavaksi” ready and published at 2007. Luckily the pace is accelerating: the second cd is coming up later this
year. The Kouon Frouva musicians are also known from numerous other folk music groups such as Värttinä, Nordic Choro, Orkestar
Bordurka, Ruuti and Freija
just to name a few. The bass player Jani has even entertained wide pop audiences in the well-known band
Poets of the Fall.

Kouon Frouva musicians:

Topi Korhonen, guitar, vocals
Lassi Logren, violin, vocals
Jarmo Romppanen, mandolin, vocals
