Bill Lambdin
I’ve been writing poetry for quite a few years. My hometown is Cleveland, Ohio and I’ve lived in different places in the midwestern and southern US and have lived in Finland since 2007. I’ve been influenced by such poets as Walt Whitman, William Carlos Williams, E.E. Cummings, Charles Bukowski and the beat poets. My poems have appeared in various small press magazines, broadsides and chapbooks in the US, Canada, Belgium and Switzerland. A few have appeared in French translation. My 1997 chapbook slow movement won the 1997 Georgia (USA) Author of the Year Award. Here is the title poem from that book:
slow movement
today is like the slow movement
of a quartet by Schubert
it’s cold
everything’s frozen still and the melody you hear
over the silence is only there
to break yr heart
