Dear friend of Arkadia,
You are invited to a literary evening with Jose Antonio Ruiz (Spain) and Daniel Malpica (Mexico) on Thursday 16.11. at 5.30pm at Arkadia (Nervanderinkatu 11).
The writers who live in Finland (and write in neither of the two official languages, Finnish and Swedish) often find recognition abroad and a little less in their adoptive country. In this lecture series, foreign-born writers tell about their work and their position in the field of Finnish literature.
Jose Antonio Ruiz (Spain) and Daniel Malpica (Mexico) will be interviewed by Roxana Crisólogo.
The discussion is organised in collaboration with the Sivuvalo project: sivuvalo.com/suomi/.
The talk will be in English, Spanish and Finnish.
Welcome!
Warm regards,
José Antonio Ruiz (Madrid, 1972), M.A. in Spanish Philology, lives in Finland since 1997 and teaches Spanish and Creative Writing at the University of Helsinki Language Centre.
