Dear friend of Arkadia,

You are invited to How do we construct our societies? , an explanation from (German) sociology of knowledge, by Ossi Ollinaho on Thursday 25.4 at 6pm at Arkadia (Nervanderinkatu 11)

A fresh doctor, Ossi Ollinaho will explain how sociologists of knowledge perceive reality: an activity based on individual experience structured by society that is being reproduced by individuals. This will require going back to concepts such as consciousness, knowledge, socialization, objectivation and institutionalization. Furthermore, Ossi will tell how material sphere can be integrated into this view. If time allows, de-pragmatized knowledge and institutional change will be discussed as well.

Ossi’s dissertation: http://lib.tkk.fi/Diss/2012/isbn9789526048581/isbn9789526048581.pdf

You are all very welcome.

Warm regards,

Ian
