Dear friend of Arkadia, You are invited to “Microfinance – a blessing or a curse” by Tom von Weissenberg on Thursday 26.4 at 6pm. Tom is a former banker and senior development consultant. His first overseas assignment was for IFRC in Sri Lanka in 1995. He will share some of his experience from both genuine and commercial MF mainly in South East Asia. The presentation will cover questions like how does MF alleviate poverty; is it working as expected; if not, why; does it address/solve a problem; what could be the worst case scenario; is it viable, sustainable?
