La Forestuore, what’s that?
It’s Jeanne having fun playing and arranging songs she likes a lot for a very interesting instrumentation. One voice, one violin, two violas, one cello and on double bass create interesting possibilities and a great opportunity for the arranger to re-explore Quebec folk songs as much as Beatles songs and jazz standards. Getting musicians from classical and jazz training together in the same project and mixing their point of view creates an ensemble with a great sound potential and a very unique performance. During the concert, the musicians (all studying at the Sibelius Academy) will perform as both sextet and smaller ensembles.
