Tuesday 12.4 at 6pm: ‘On the Mathematical Concept of Infinity’ by Juliette Kennedy

Dear friend of Arkadia, You are most heartily invited to “On the Mathematical Concept of Infinity” by Juliette Kennedy on Tuesday 12.4 at 6pm. Juliette has most kindly and generously accepted to help us explore the mathematical concept of infinity from its roots in classical sources to the present time. Juliette Kennedy is Yliopistonlehtori at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Helsinki. Juliette is also a curator. The talk, in English, is aimed at a general audience, i.e. no background knowledge is assumed. Welcome! Warm regards, Ian www.arkadiabookshop.fi (don’t hesitate to have a look at the newly refurbished site and at the selection of the Arkadia book collection!) -Entrance is free and green tea will be offered. A donation of €2 (or more!) to fund the event is suggested and would be most welcome.
