Dear friend of Arkadia,

You are invited to ‘Gate of the mystical female’ , a concert by Teemu Suuntamaa (guitar and voice), with Mercedes Krapovickas (bandoneon) onTuesday 12.8 at 6pm at Arkadia (Nervanderinkatu 11)

Teemu Suuntamaa plays eccentric art folk, his own compositions in which words have an important role, although they might defy the mind. Performance is powerful, spirited and at the same time, delicate. Guitar runs so swift it escapes the hands; one can hear bellowing and wail. Some of the songs are sweetened by the accompaniment of bandoneon.

Mystisen naaraan portti — Teemu Suuntamaa (kitara ja laulu), Mercedes Krapovickas (bandoneon)

Teemu Suuntamaa soittaa eksentristä taidefolkia, omia kappaleitaan, joissa sanoilla on suuri merkitys, vaikka ne saattavat paeta mieltä. Esitys on voimallista, henkevää ja samalla herkkää. Kitara juoksee käsistä, kuuluu mylvintää ja ujellusta. Muutamia lauluista makeuttaa bandoneon.

Teemu Suuntamaa (s. 1979) on Helsingissä asuva laulaja–lauluntekijä. Hän tekee enemmän muita asioita kuin musiikkia, mutta on esiintynyt säännöllisesti mielikuvitusystävilleen, joiden suurta suosiota hän nauttii.

Mercedes Krapovickas on argentiinalainen bandoneonisti, pianisti, säveltäjä ja musiikkitieteilijä. Hän on syventynyt intohimoisesti tangoon ja on esiintynyt bandoneonilla sekä yksin että useissa pienemmissä kokoonpanoissa ja orkestereissa.

Teemu Suuntamaa (b. 1979) is a singer–songwriter currently living in Helsinki. He does more other things than music but has performed regularly to his imaginary friends among whom he enjoys great success.
Mercedes Krapovickas is an Argentinian bandoneonist, pianist, composer and musicologist. She is passionately involved in tango, and has performed as a solo bandoneonist and performed in numerous ensembles and orchestras.
