Dear friend of Arkadia, You are warmly invited “Architecture, from universal, static space to dynamic, locally varying processes” by Architect Tapani Launis on Tuesday 15.11 at 6pm.  Tapani will be referring to his dissertation “Space, Time and the Virtual“. Welcome! Warm regards, Ian www.arkadiabookshop.fi -Entrance is free and green tea will be offered. A donation of €2 (or more!) to fund the event is suggested and would be most welcome. Tapani Launis Tapani lives in Helsinki now. He has had much international activity in architectural field, mainly in Anglo-American universities and institutions. He has tried to put test his broader studies to practice in his own architectural practice. His main approach is cross- scientific, from theory to practice. His scientific studies and his dissertation, have concentrated on the critical analysis on modernistic dogma and its universal appearance, which often does not always respect local cultural, climatic and environmental conditions. He is convinced that in this globalized world village, there is a certain Western paradigm which does not help people living in different environments and conditions.
