Sound is Shape
Sound is Shape is a collaboration between classical violinist Leena Tuomisto-Saarikoski and dance theatre actor/director Kazimir Kolesnik.
By the means of contemporary violin music, physical theatre and poetry the artists will perform works they have created together and to which they’ll add instant composition and improvisation.
Between each line of a poem there is a world of silence and this is where music and movement find they form.
The performance will last approximately 45 minutes. It will comprise four contrasting pieces: Scorpion’s Song, Silent Violin, Basho, Warrior of Beauty.
The artists:
Kazimi Kolesnik has toured 47 countries as a dancer, actor and physical theatre artist. Kazimir was trained at The Mime Centre, London and the London School Of Contemporary Dance. He is a faculty member of the Lahti circus school, Koulutus Keskus Salpaus.
Leena Tuomisto-Saarikoski is a Sibelius Academy Graduate and a member of Tapiola Sinfonietta Orchestra. Additionally, Leena wishes to expand as a musician, and is in the process of experimenting with new forms of musical expression with the violin.
