Tuesday 27.3 at 6pm: Short Story Special by Heikki Hietala
Dear friend of Arkadia,
You are invited to “Short Story Special” by Heikki Hietala on Tuesday 27.3 at 6pm.
Heikki will unveil his new short story collection, “Filtered Light and Other Stories”. It was published on February 8, 2012 by PfoxChase Publishing, Pennsylvania, USA and can be found on Amazon as Kindle (http://amzn.to/wp3baL) as well as paperback on CreateSpace (http://bit.ly/zpEi40).
Using his own stories as a starting point, Hietala will attempt to open the process of writing short stories and especially flash fiction, since this format is gaining new audiences as new technologies make it more readily available. Short stories can be read on the mobile phone, tablet PCs, iPads and iPhones, and many other new devices, which should bode well for the short story.
It is hoped that the audience will join in and discuss their favorite short story authors and stories so as to spread the word on good examples of the format.
Welcome!
Warm regards,
Ian

Hietala has published one novel, “Tulagi Hotel”, in 2010 but since then his main interest has been in writing short stories. His tales usually fall within the Speculative Fiction genre, but he’s also known for short historical fiction, humor, and Flash Fiction (stories of 500 words or less). His story, “Lord Stanton’s Horse”, won the global Flash500 competition in September 2010. He also features in the Arkadia Gazette Vol. 1, out now.
