Dear friend of Arkadia,

You are invited to the opening of the exhibit: The Yellow Submarine Experience, curated by Eduardo Serradilla Sanchis for Muñecos en Acción, on Tuesday 5.5 at 6pm at Arkadia (Nervanderinkatu 11)

Warm regards,

A donation of €3 (or more!) to fund the bookshop is suggested and would be most welcome. Arkadia wouldn’t exist without this act of generosity. If you have no loose change or coins we gladly accept payment via Visa Electron or Mastercard etc. !

The Yellow Submarine Experience offers the visitor an insight into the history of The Beatles’ song and the 1968 animated film. Added to that, it is a great excuse to reinvent the famous group and set it in the 21st century, thanks to Finnish artist Susanna Silván, 2014 Rakkautta & Anarkiaa International Film Festival poster’s author.

The Yellow Submarine movie (1999, remastered version) will be shown, too, at the exhibition on Wednesday 6th of May, at 18:30.

Eduardo Serradilla Sanchis (Canary Islands, Spain, 1966) undertook a joint honors degree in Advertising and Public Relations, landed a job as a broadcast journalist whilst studying and soon after graduating, another at the creative department of an advertising agency in Spain’s capital city, Madrid. All in all, as a public relations, he has organized more than one hundred exhibitions and cultural events in the Canary Islands and in mainland Spain.

In 2005 Eduardo Serradilla Sanchis saw his first book published. “10 años de terror oriental” (Ediciones CineAsia), an in-depth study about horror films made in Japan, Korea and China during a 10 year time-span, was written in collaboration with seven other writers. Since then he has written five more monographs and three academic books, all published by Dolmen Editorial. The last book which is about comic book supergroup Avengers and its universe has been written in collaboration with twenty more authors.

With more than a thousand articles about films and film premieres, and more than a thousand articles about comics and graphic novels for Dolmen Editorial’s magazine, for the online newspaperwww.canariasahora.es, for the sci-fi specialized web-page www.tumbaabierta.com and for the long gone La Opinion de Tenerife newspaper’s cultural supplement El Radikal, he has become an established cinema and comic journalist.

The Yellow Submarine Experience is Muñecos en Acción’s, Eduardo Serradilla Sanchis’ company, fourth cultural event organized in Helsinki.
