Aino Kurki is a kantele player and composer living in Helsinki. She has just released her debut solo album. The album was inspired by kora, a West-African harp. The virtuosity of the players of kora made a lasting impression on her and her music. She wanted to challenge the unique sound of kantele and at the same time take it to unknown areas. On her album, the age old jawbone of a pike swims its way into the turquoise ocean and dances among the corals while rhythms pop up to the surface of the water.

Cheick Cissokho is a Senegalese kora player. He comes from the famous griot family continuing the old traditions as a kora player. He plays and sings in several bands in Helsinki.
