Dear friend of Arkadia,

You are heartily invited not to attend in person (please don’t come!) ‘Non-performance’ by Laurel Bush (who will be absent) on 25.3 at 5pm at Arkadia (Nervanderinkatu 11)

Arkadia will be closed and remain utterly empty for ‘Non-performance’ by Laurel Bush. The show will last 5 full hours precisely. The non-existent performer(s) and the non-existent audience will be asked to leave the bookshop at 10:00pm sharp.

Even though the number of seats available is literally unlimited we suggest you write to make sure one is reserved to your name. Refreshments (Champagne, freshly pressed orange juice, porridge, scones, tortillas and biscuits) won’t be served at the interval that in any case will be hardly noticeable.

Laurel Bush is a retired university lecturer with an interest in speculative fiction. She has most generously rented the premises of Arkadia (to help the shop during these strange times) for the non-performance she hasn’t written and will perform under no circumstances.

Unfortunately and for purely for technical reasons the performance will not be streamed live. Photos of the performance will be available throughout the show on the Facebook account of Arkadia and Instagram.

Welcome! (but please, I insist, don’t come! Our door will remain firmly locked)
