Lisa Erdman will present an overview of her current artistic research, which explores ways of creating innovative spaces for political dialogue.
The research straddles the areas of art, advertising, politics and pharmaceuticals. Lisa will present her final thesis project at a public site in Helsinki this May.

Lisa Erdman
Lisa Erdman
is an artist and doctoral candidate at the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture in
Helsinki. Using corporate parody and satirical humour, her multimedia work explores the politics of gender, race, and cultural identity. She is interested in examining the internal and external mechanisms that shape our personal identities and sense of cultural reality.
Erdman’s work borrows from surrealism, political satire, science fiction, and absurdist performance strategies reminiscent of the Fluxus and
Dadaist traditions.
Lisa Erdman’s academic degrees include a Bachelor of Science in Dance and Interarts & Technology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and a Master of Fine Arts in Electronic Arts from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York.
