Kuusikko on noin kuuden lauluun langenneen naisen kansanlauluyhtye. Ohjelmisto koostuu Suomen ja sen lähialueiden lauluperinteestä: kalevalaissäkeistä, rekilauluista, ruotsalaispolskista, joiuista, inkeriläisröntysköistä, setulaulusta – tuorein sovituksin. Joskus tehdään pyrähdyksiä kauemmas, Irlantiin tai vaikka Afrikkaan. Kuusikko on perustettu vuonna 2010. Yhtyeen laulussa kohtaavat
laulajien erilaiset, vankat musiikilliset taustat, jotka hioutuvat yhteiseksi iloksi ja soinniksi. Kuusikko on saanut oppia Veera
Voimalta ja muilta kansanlaulajilta, ja se on esiintynyt ja muun muassa Haapavesi Folkissa ja Maija Lepistön flamencoteoksessa Aurinko.

Kuusikko is a folk singing group formed by some six women enchanted by the power of singing. The group sings traditional songs from Finland and the neighbouring areas – Scandinavia, Carelia, Samiland – with a fresh, modern touch. Sometimes the trip takes the listeners even further away, to Ireland or Africa. Kuusikko was founded in 2010. It has had a privilege to learn from Veera Voima and other Finland’s leading folk singers. Among other occasions, Kuusikko has performed in Haapavesi folk and in the flamenco choreography Aurinko by Maija Lepistö.
